What Are You Waiting For?

A few days ago I shared this picture on Instagram of my little girl watching her big brothers play outside.

As I watched her press her sweet face against the glass and coo at the boys as they ran and played, it got me wondering…

Is there anything in my life that I feel like I’m watching from the window?

What about you?

Let me put it to you this way…

Imagine for a moment you had your face pressed against a glass window, watching a version of yourself or your life play out that you really want to be a part of – what are you seeing?

So many people replied to the photo with a broken heart or crying face emoji – they all felt Liv’s longing for something she couldn’t be a part of.

Everyone so easily identified with her struggle – but I wondered, was it just that they could see the longing in her, or did they recognize it in themselves too?

Many, if not most, of us have dreams for our lives. We want to be, do, or have something that maybe we haven’t achieved quite yet.

So I ask you, what’s stopping you?

Are you taking active steps to achieve those things, or are you pressing your face against the glass, waiting for ‘one day’ when someone might open the door for you?

In Liv’s case she can’t walk yet, or open doors for that matter, so she really can’t get out there and run around with her brothers...yet.

But what about us?

Is what holds us back real? Or is it in our heads?

Be honest.

Today I invite you to spend 5 minutes on this exercise, ask yourself:

If I had my face pressed against a glass window, watching a version of myself or my life play out that I really want to be a part of – what am I seeing?

And notice what comes up for you.

Then ask yourself: So, what’s stopping me?

Finally, make a commitment to yourself to make one big or even one small change starting now, that will get you one step closer to your dream.

Want to be held accountable for it? Reply to this email and tell me what it is.

Today could be the first day of a turning point in your story.

You have everything you need within you to stop watching and wishing, open the door, and walk towards what you want.

So let’s go!

Wishing you a wonderful week.

With love and gratitude,

Robin
